Frequently asked questions

The things people ask at the counter every week. If yours is not here, call and ask.

Getting a repair done

No. Walk in during opening hours. Starting a repair online just means we know what is coming.

It depends on the device, the fault and whether the part is in stock. A straight part replacement is quicker than computer work, which has to be tested rather than just assembled. We give you a realistic time frame when we quote, and we would rather give you an accurate one than a flattering one.

We find the cause and give you the price before any repair work begins. Ask us when you drop the device off and we will confirm exactly what applies to your job.

For some repairs, yes, and for others you can wait. We will tell you which when we quote.

For common repairs on known models, often yes. For anything involving liquid, a folding screen or a computer that will not start, we need to see it, because guessing a price we cannot honour helps nobody.

Your data and your device

A screen or battery replacement does not touch your data. Anything involving a reset, a wipe or a failed drive is different, and we always discuss it with you before doing it. Back up first if the device still works.

Some repairs need the device unlocked to test properly, and some cannot be completed without the account password because of the manufacturer lock features. We will tell you up front which applies.

We tell you plainly and we tell you why. We would rather lose the job than take money for a repair that will not hold.

Often, yes. It depends on why it will not turn on. Bring it in and we will tell you the realistic options before you spend anything.

What we work on

Yes. Samsung Galaxy, Google Pixel, Motorola and most other Android phones, alongside iPhone and iPad.

Yes. Galaxy Z Fold, Z Flip and Pixel foldables. Folding displays and hinges are a different job to a standard phone and we assess them in person rather than quoting blind.

Yes, alongside Windows machines and Chromebooks.

Ask us. Console work is not our main line but we will tell you honestly whether we can help with yours.

Ask us in the shop about what we currently have available.
